Controversial Television Show Pehredaar Piya Ki Loses Prime Time Slot

For the first time ever, a telly show has managed to create so much drama off the television! The most talked about show, Pehredaary Piya Ki, has not only become the national topic of debate, but has also caught the attention of higher authorities, who have finally decided to take some serious action against the show.

After the backlash saw no end, the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) asked television channel Sony Entertainment Television to move the prime-time daily soap, to a late night slot, preventing minors from watching the show.

The show that’s accused of promoting child marriage, is currently aired at 8:30pm (Monday to Thursday), and is now reportedly moved to 10 pm. Additionally, BCCC has also asked Sony to issue a disclaimer stating that the channel/show does not support child marriage.

Sony Entertainment Television has currently declined to comment, saying that they haven’t received any official communication from BCCC yet.

We wonder if the controversy around this show will ever end! Have you watched it yet? What are your thoughts?
